Why it feels harder than it should

If your gym is under £5k a month, it was probably built out of order.

You’re a good coach. Your members get results, and plenty of them stay because of you. The business side came together as you went: you found a space, started coaching, and worked the rest out on the way. Prices came from the gym down the road, the offer grew into whatever people asked for, and marketing happens when there’s a gap in the week.

So you end up guessing, and reaching for more leads, a new tactic or another course. None of it sticks, because it’s being added to a gym that was never set up to pay you. Underneath, it’s usually the same three things.

Built out of order
Built in the right order
Your numbers
Out of orderThe numbers were never worked out.Pricing, margins and the model the gym needs to run on are all educated guesses.
In the right orderThe numbers are worked out.You know what the gym needs to earn to pay you, and the model and prices are set from that.
Your offer and sales
Out of orderThe offer, sales process and pricing don’t work together.People are interested, but it doesn’t turn into members at a price that holds the business up.
In the right orderOffer, sales and pricing work together. One clear offer, a sales process you follow, and a price that covers what the gym needs to earn.
Your growth
Out of orderGrowth depends on how busy you are that week. There’s no plan and no numbers telling you whether the gym is moving forward.
In the right orderGrowth runs on a plan.A marketing plan, a defined brand, and a handful of numbers you check every week.

Gym Owner Network runs a mentorship for gyms above £5k a month. Below that, our advice is the same every time: put the foundations in place first, in the right order. Foundations is that work, laid out as a 90-day path you follow on your own.

Whether you’re three years in or still fitting out the unit, it’s the same starting point.

The Foundations Method

Ninety days, in the order that works.

Three 30-day phases, each with three steps. Each phase builds on the one before, so you’re never working on marketing while the price underneath it is wrong.

Phase one · Days 1 to 30

Owner Foundations

Get clear on the numbers, margins, pricing and model your gym needs to work. Growth built on the wrong economics just adds pressure.

  1. STEP 1Lead yourself first
  2. STEP 2Know your numbers
  3. STEP 3Build the right gym model

By day 30: you stop guessing and can see what the gym needs to look like financially.

Phase two · Days 31 to 60

Commercial Foundations

Turn good coaching into something properly packaged, priced and sold. More leads won’t fix an unclear offer or a price the business can’t run on.

  1. STEP 4Build the offer
  2. STEP 5Install the sales process
  3. STEP 6Fix the pricing model

By day 60: you can explain what you sell, what it costs and how you sell it.

Phase three · Days 61 to 90

Growth Foundations

Set how you market the gym, what the brand stands for and which numbers show whether it’s growing. Without them, you’re back to guessing.

  1. STEP 7Build the marketing plan
  2. STEP 8Clarify the brand
  3. STEP 9Track the numbers

By day 90: you know which growth activity matters and which numbers to watch each week.

What changes over the 90 days

Day 1

A coach who happens to own a gym

  • Coaching most sessions and running the business in whatever time is left
  • Decisions made week to week, reacting to whatever’s loudest
  • No set order for what to work on next

Day 90

A gym owner running a business

  • Set time in the week to work on the business
  • Decisions made deliberately, against a plan and your numbers
  • Knowing what to build next, and why

How it works

Watch it, do it in your gym, then move on.

First minute

See the full 90-day roadmap and know exactly where to start.

First hour

Start structuring your week and working out what the gym needs to deliver financially.

First day

Make your first real calculation or decision about the business.

First week

Run the week with your numbers in front of you and a plan for the gym you’re building.

Each step is short training followed by work you do in your own gym, using the worksheets and calculators alongside it. It’s built for doing, so the 90 days is a recommended pace rather than a deadline, and you keep access for life.

Who it’s for

Built for one kind of gym owner.

Foundations is for you if you

  • Run, or are about to open, an independent coach-led gym
  • Are currently under £5k a month
  • Want to build the business side of the gym, as well as the coaching
  • Will put each step in place yourself, as you learn it

It isn’t the right fit if you

  • Are consistently above £5k a month and ready for mentorship
  • Want someone to implement it for you
  • Want one-to-one coaching, calls or feedback
  • Are looking for a quick tactic rather than groundwork

Before that, it was long weeks spent trying to make the gym work without knowing what to fix first, and not much to show for either.

These results came through GON mentorship, with a coach on the business.

Foundations teaches the groundwork these gyms built on.

Foundations is built by the team behind Gym Owner Network, who run gyms themselves. It’s the same material they use in their own businesses and with every new Network member.

Questions

Before you decide.

We don’t promise a revenue figure. What Foundations gives you in 90 days is the groundwork a gym needs before it can grow: numbers that work, an offer and price that hold up, and a plan for growth you can measure. How fast revenue follows depends on your gym and how you implement.

Yes. It’s easier to build your numbers, offer, pricing and sales process right before you open than to fix them later.

It depends on what’s in place in the business. Plenty of established owners under £5k a month have never worked out their numbers or built their offer and pricing around them. Foundations is designed for them as much as for new owners.

Each phase is roughly a month of implementation alongside running the gym. One of the first steps is organising your week, which frees up the time to work through the rest. There’s no deadline, and you keep access for life.

No. Foundations is self-directed, with no calls, coaching or individual feedback. You get the full programme and every resource that goes with it.

Straight away. Everything is in the GON members’ area as soon as your payment goes through, and access is for life, on either payment option.

Keep building on what you’ve put in place. Once the gym is consistently above £5k a month, you can book a call with Gym Owner Network to talk about the right next step. If you’re already there, that call is where to start rather than Foundations.
